Five Mules Join Trail Ride
Spanning Three Nations By Mark Laney The Best of America by Horseback Mexico to Canada Ride has five mule riders participating: Brenda (riding LaneyB) and Mark (riding Mountain Man) Laney, from Hale Center, Texas; Barbara Buckley, riding Scarlet, from Safety Harbor, Fla.; and Christiana (riding Audrey) and Jeff (riding Tonto) Blue from Elgin, Texas. The five month adventure has traveled over 650 miles since starting in Santa Teresa, N.M. on the Mexico border, and is about to attain the 100,000 cumulative trail riding miles ridden by all its riders since the beginning of the popular trail riding series, Best of America by Horseback, which is currently aired on RFD-TV network. This milestone will be achieved in the Smile High city of La Junta, Colo. Led by outdoorsman and trail master Tom Seay of Culpeper, Va., the ride has been and will be involved in a host of local activities all along the trail, which will include an escort by the Canadian Mounties when the ride reaches Saskatchewan, Canada Sept. 5. Mark Laney, the Chief Executive Officer of Best of America by Horseback from Plainview, Texas, said, “We are a little traveling town of people from all walks of life and varying backgrounds, ranging in age from their forties to folks in their seventies and eighties. We just could not have asked for a better group of people to ride with us and share this historical journey It is truly an experience and an adventure of a lifetime.”
